Frequently Asked Questions About Medicare
1
Do I need a Medicare agent to enroll in Medicare?
You do not need a Medicare agent to enroll in Medicare, you can go directly through an insurance agency, however, using a knowledgeable and experienced Medicare agent, like myself, can help you better understand your risks and options associated with the Medicare plan that you choose. As your agent I can also help you down the road if you run into any issues. I recommend deciding which plan provides the best coverage for you and your situation and then enlist my help so that you have a better understanding of how your coverage works.
2
How much does Medicare cost?
The price for Medicare coverage varies based upon which plan you choose, but you will likely pay the Part B premium to Medicare. Beyond that, you may pay for other premiums, deductibles, co-pays, and co-insurance. The total amount you pay will depend on the type of Medicare plan(s) that you choose and the health care services you use during the year.
3
When is the Medicare enrollment period?
If you're turning 65, you can enroll in a Medicare plan. You have a seven-month period to join during this time which includes three months before you turn 65, through your birthday month and into three months after the month you turn 65.
-
The general enrollment period for Medicare Part A and Part B is between January 1 and March 31 each year if- you did not sign up when you were first eligible or you aren't eligible for a special enrollment period
-
